Dr. Richard Usinger has been engaged in private, quality oriented dental practice for over twenty years, and is experienced in all phases of dental care for all patient age groups. He enjoys bringing comfortable dental care to his patients in a state-of-the-art office in Blackhawk Plaza.

Dr. Usinger grew up in the Bay Area, and graduated from the University of the Pacific with a a degree in Biological Sciences. He then attended the University of Southern California School of Dentistry, where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree. He has been active in numerous dental organizations, including the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the Southern California Academy of Oral Pathology, the American and California Dental Associations, the Contra Costa Dental Society, the medical staff of John Muir Medical Center, the Board of Tustees and the Peer Review Committee of the Contra Costa Dental Society, Los Medicos Volodores (the Flying Doctors), the Leadership Council of the University of the Pacific, and the Academy of General Dentistry. He is listed in the 22nd Edition of Who's Who in the West, and has been appointed to serve as an expert dental examiner as well as an expert witness for the State of California Dental Board.

Dr. Usinger lives in Lafayette with his wife, Lynne. He has two sons who attend school in Moraga and Arizona. When not in the office, Dr. Usinger enjoys numerous outdoor activities with his family, including hiking, skiing, boating and mountaineering.
